IS ACUPUNCTURE SAFE DURING PREGNANCY?
In skilled hands, acupuncture is absolutely safe during pregnancy. We never place needles in dangerous areas that would cause damage to you or baby.
WHAT ABOUT HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS?
We are very experienced in using herbs and supplements during pregnancy. However, your comfort level is our primary concern and we will respect your wishes should you choose not to take them.
DO YOU GIVE DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS?
We can absolutely do this for you. For over a decade we’ve given dietary advice to many hundreds of pregnant women who have all had healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.
DO YOU DO “ACUPUNCTURE LABOR INDUCTION”?
We prefer to call it “birth facilitation” because nothing we do is forceful or overly stimulating. We have successfully helped many women to give birth on time and avoid medical induction.
WHAT ABOUT TURNING BREECH BABIES?
While acupuncture has a stellar reputation in this area, we choose not to provide this service. We feel the safety of mother and baby comes first and any attempts to manually turn your baby should be done in a hospital or OB clinic setting where baby’s heart-rate can be monitored.
CAN ACUPUNCTURE CAUSE CONTRACTIONS?
Yes, but only if certain points are used and those points are forcefully stimulated. We avoid points known to stimulate uterine contractions so you have nothing to worry about. Again, we’ve treated over 2,000 women during pregnancy and we’ve never had a case of inducing early labor with our treatments. Ever.
